This notice explains what personal data Screen Reader Guide uses and why.
Last updated: 26 July 2026
Who is responsible
Amin Amini operates Screen Reader Guide in Stockholm, Sweden and is responsible for personal data processed directly by Screen Reader Guide. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Learning without an account
You do not need an account to use the guide. A lesson is marked complete after you answer its knowledge-check questions and use the forward lesson button. Course progress is stored locally in your browser, but your individual answers are not stored. Your final-exam activity is handled in your browser. After you pass, a signed completion record is stored locally in your browser so the certificate purchase option can be unlocked. You can remove these records by clearing site data for screenreader.guide.
Screen Reader Guide does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising.
Certificate purchases
If you purchase a certificate, the following data is processed:
- your name as it should appear on the certificate;
- your email address supplied during Paddle checkout;
- your passing exam score and signed completion record;
- Paddle transaction and event identifiers; and
- the Certifier credential identifier and fulfillment status.
Payment card and billing details are collected by Paddle. Screen Reader Guide does not receive or store your full card details.
Why the data is used
The data is used to verify eligibility, process and document the purchase, prevent duplicate or fraudulent issuance, create and email the credential, provide support, correct or revoke a credential when justified, and comply with legal obligations.
The legal bases are performance of the certificate purchase contract, legitimate interests in secure and reliable fulfillment and support, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where consent is specifically requested, including publication of your name on the verification page.
Services that receive data
- Paddle acts as Merchant of Record, processes checkout and payment data, calculates taxes, prevents fraud, and provides receipts. Read Paddle's Privacy Notice.
- Certifier receives your name and email address to issue, host, verify, and email the credential. Read Certifier's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare hosts the site, processes the Paddle webhook, and stores the limited certificate fulfillment record. Read Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
These providers may process data in countries outside your own. Their contractual and legal safeguards apply to international transfers.
Public credential information
The certificate is designed to be verifiable. Your name, issue date, credential identifier, course details, and earning criteria are displayed on a public credential page hosted by Certifier. Your email address, exam answers, and payment details are not displayed there.
Contact [email protected] if your public credential needs to be corrected or revoked.
Retention
Certificate fulfillment records are kept while the credential remains valid and for as long as reasonably needed for verification, support, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations. Paddle and Certifier keep data under their own retention policies. Data that is no longer required will be deleted or anonymized.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to receive a portable copy. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful and may require the public credential to be revoked.
Send requests to [email protected]. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or your local data protection authority.
